Seen on Mercari, a Pippin prototype.
It sold for 61,700 ¥ (a little under 400 €) and likely contained a development ROM. The console had no markings on the back (a common occurrence) but did feature proper markings on the front, which is more surprising. In the development consoles I’ve seen over the years, the PowerPC branding is usually a sticker, for example. Under the console, you can see a label indicating it’s a sample model, along with references to the codename Power Player. Another noteworthy detail is that the console came with an ADB controller for Mac rather than a dedicated console version.
