A prototype of an iPad Mini Retina

Spotted on eBay, an iPad Mini Retina running SwitchBoard. The seller claims it’s the first one featuring a 64-bit CPU with SwitchBoard and mentions details about the Lightning connector and the back, although they are not shown. Priced at $6,000.

A prototype of an iPad Mini

Spotted on eBay, a prototype of an iPad Mini running SwitchBoard, the test OS. Priced at $4,200 for immediate purchase, it exhibits an interesting memory management setup: around 800 MB for the system and 5 GB for the user. Apparently, it’s the same as this one.

A prototype of an iPhone 4

Spotted on eBay, a prototype of the iPhone 4(S) with the distinctive logo seen on certain prototypes. The photos don’t reveal the exact model of the iPhone, but it appears to be a model of the iPhone 4 CDMA previously seen for sale. Asking for a little over $4,000 for an iPhone that doesn’t boot seems quite steep, nonetheless.

Another Apple Interactive Television Box

Spotted again on eBay, an Apple Interactive Television Box. This is the American version of the unit (not the French one), obviously unusable. Priced quite high, as is often the case ($800).

Another prototype of an iPhone 6

Yet another iPhone 6 prototype (Gold, 64 GB) from Sprint has surfaced on eBay, running on SwitchBoard.

A prototype of an iPhone 6

Spotted on eBay, a prototype of an iPhone 6, 64 GB. Given that Apple has sold several million units, it was bound to happen. Apparently, the seller received it by mistake from Verizon. In addition to the SwitchBoard system (for testing purposes), the iPhone has no markings on the casing and a red Lightning connector. As of my writing on October 6th, it was priced at nearly €90,000.

Prototypes of Apple chargers

Spotted on eBay, Mac chargers. These are prototypes, but nothing seems to distinguish them from the standard models. The first one is a MacBook Pro charger with the classic MagSafe connector, and it is priced at $100. The second one is a PowerBook charger with its round connector.

A prototype of an eMate

Seen at Henry Plain, a prototype of the eMate, the portable device that used the Newton OS. The machine has a different keyboard from the final version, as well as a different stylus. Additionally, it’s indicated that this is a prototype.

A prototype of an iPhone 6

Another iPhone 6 with the test software found on eBay. I might start believing someone figured out how to install it manually. This time, it’s a Japanese 16GB Gold iPhone 6.

A prototype of an iPhone

Seen on eBay, an iPhone with a test operating system. It’s expensive (over $1,500 at the time of writing), and on an iPhone EDGE, it’s possible to manually install a test OS, so caution is advised.
