Excel beta for Mac

Spotted on eBay, a large stack of Mac floppy disks (around 200) with some interesting finds. Among them, there’s a floppy disk containing a beta version of Excel, a software initially released for Apple’s Macs.

Seen on eBay, a prototype of the Apple Pro Mouse. The only difference compared to a regular mouse is apparently the color of the cable, which is white, while the standard versions have a transparent cable.

Seen on eBay, a prototype of a 17-inch MacBook Pro. Priced at $5,000, it features a green PCB (which is often red on prototypes) and an odd connector, presumably used for a 3G card, although I’m not entirely certain. The machine is functional, which isn’t always the case with prototypes…

A reader sent me some photos of a rather astonishing device: a prototype of the PowerBook G4… equipped with two processors. Yes, Apple, before transitioning to Intel processors, evidently intended to offer dual G4 PowerBooks, akin to desktop machines.

Apple had planned a dock connector for the Mac mini

I had already mentioned it—the original Mac mini (the G4) contains traces of a dock connector on its internal daughterboard. Until today, not much was known, but I stumbled upon a photo of a Mac mini cover with the said connector.
