A prototype of a Power Mac G5

Spotted on eBay, a prototype of a Power Mac G5 is up for sale. The listing includes a chassis and a motherboard (without CPUs), and it’s the Late 2005 version that supports two dual-core processors. A prototype of a Power Mac G4 Cube

Seen on eBay, a prototype of the Power Mac G4 Cube, or at least a model directly from Apple. Apart from an « Property of Apple » sticker, the machine appears to be standard.

Les meilleures promotions du jour

A prototype of an Apple Interactive Television Box

Seen on eBay, an American version (as often is the case) of Apple’s first venture into the world of television. $450 for a box that has a certain style but is an unusable device, given that it relies on servers that no longer exist (like the technologies used).

A prototype of a Macintosh keyboard

Seen on a blogger’s site, a prototype of a keyboard for the original Macintosh. It uses the classic RJ11 connector (which predates ADB) and is more compact than the keyboard sold with the machine in 1984.

Spotted on eBay, a prototype of Spartacus, the 20th-anniversary Mac. More precisely, it’s a classic Mac, but with a prototype keyboard and subwoofer.

A Newton DVT prototype

Seen on eBay, a Newton prototype (DVT) with a bunch of accessories. According to the seller, and judging by the ROM, it appears to be a Newton 120, but there are no markings to confirm this.

Iconic and prototypes

If you enjoy (beautiful) Mac photos, the Iconic book is for you. Very comprehensive (and very large), this book features photos of various Apple devices, including some interesting prototypes.

A prototype of a dual G4 PowerBook

I had previously discussed this, but back when the G4 struggled and the G5 couldn’t fit into a PowerBook, Apple envisioned a PowerBook G4 with two CPUs. Not two cores, at that time it was a distant dream, but two physical CPUs. A collector has a prototype, and they managed to get it to boot…

A prototype of a Macintosh mouse

Spotted on eBay, a Macintosh mouse for $3,000. First seen in January 2014, it features a bent connector instead of a straight one.
